Satya - The Truth
I always wondered about what the word ‘Satya’ meant. If only it meant to speak the truth all the time , then why did people in the past like Harischandra ji got such experiences ?
How to be trueful when it is not valued? I believe that anything in this world will have its full effect when it is ‘valued’!! And it is taken for granted?Or when it is being commented?
Let me tell you a scenario . In today’s world, we run behind many things. Our everyday life is more like a race. We get told few of these lines -
‘ You are running out of age, Get married soon’
‘Your friends are earning more than you, why not you?’
‘Some random person has got nice big villa, why are you living in a small cosy home?’
‘Oh! You got such a nice costly thing, you must be a millionaire’
‘You look so ugly, why not get some makeup?’
‘You used too much make up to look so beautiful, why are you faking the beauty with make up?’
Blah blah blah….
But why don’t anyone think about the standard of living doesn’t define the standard of happiness?
And the standard of happiness/ fulfilment/ contentment is the one key thing for a happy life?
And that the standard of happiness can be different for everyone?
And that everyone have their freedom to think of such core values that makes the foundation for their standard of happiness , which in-turn helps in the quality rich life style?
So, if someone is earning some crores of money and living happy , doesn’t necessarily mean that earning crores should make everyone else happy too.
And if someone is deciding on things very quick and the other takes time to decide on things , it is absolutely normal. It doesn’t make either of them unusual or abnormal.
I don’t know why but in today’s society, we come across such comments atleast once everyday.
And I am not sure if anyone knows how much that puts a negative effect on someone when it happens for a prolonged time period.
I wish people be a little considerate before they roll out any comments.
Also, I am glad to have known some interesting thing today by Radhika ji from Satvik Yoga. As per Yoga , Satya means not just speaking truth about something external but also being in sync with your core values. Being trueful to self.
How to be trueful to self?
Know your core values
Sync your thoughts accordingly
Sync your actions accordingly
And then look at how peaceful you could be. Such blissful feel.
And that’s the exact thing I had on mind but then how do you achieve it when you cannot sync them with core values because they are not accepted by the society around you? ( I mean , even for simple things like a girl cannot talk more. A boy cannot cry out loud . You cannot pick Engineering as you are from a doctor family…..).
I will get back when i find the answer. There must be an answer for this :)
